This was really insightful and very true to character. I think that so often characters are one dimensional and you make them the multi facetted beings they truly are. I will admit this made me quite sad but it was excellent.
Author's Response: I do want to keep the characters true to the show, with their flaws intact. But yes, it can get depressing!

Oh this was just so sad and bittersweet and perfect. I loved Laura's speech and the way they both still know they love each other but have issues to work out. Damn Bill and his damn honor.
Author's Response: I realized that we'd never seen Laura at one of the service funerals but I think she would attend them, so I had to do that scene. Depressing as it was, combined with their frayed relationship!

Oh this was quite good. I like when we get to see things that plausibly could have happened but didn't get to see in the show. Good job!
Author's Response: I love to think about the little details of day to day life which we don't see in the show, and to use them in stories.

This was equal parts hot and frustrating. My two favorite lines were "Why couldn’t she have fallen for Colonial One’s janitor" and " he respected her and she'd just have to love with that. Too funny! I adore this series so far!

Loving this fic, and especially the tone of this whole chapter- he might be the military man, but she's the pragmatic hard-liner.
